Ingredients

Instructions

  • Wash soya granules and soak with water for 10 minutes. Soya tends to increase in size after soaking in water so add water accordingly.
  • After 10 minutes you will see the soya granules has become fluffy and soft. Squeeze all the water from soya granules by pressing them between your palms and keep aside.
  • Heat oil in a non-stick pan; once the oil becomes hot add cumin seeds into it.
  • Once the cumin seeds become light brown add finely chopped onion and sauté it on medium flame till it becomes translucent and light brown.
  • Add chopped ginger, garlic and sauté it for further 2 minutes. I have not added green chilly but if you want can add chilly to make it spicy.
  • Add chopped tomatoes, salt to taste and cook on medium flame till it becomes soft and mushy. To make the cooking fast I have added salt.
  • Once the tomatoes become soft put all the spices- coriander powder, red chilly powder, garam masala, chopped coriander leaves. Mix it well and cook for 2 minutes.
  • Add soya granules and boiled peas. Give a stir and mix all the spices.
  • Add ¾ cup of water, mix it well. Cover and let’s cook the soya peas sabji for 4-5 minutes on medium flame.
  • Remove the lid and give a nice stir to soya peas sabji and cook until the water gets evaporated.
  • Garnish with coriander leaves and serve hot with roti, phulka, paratha.
