If you think kids friendly vegetable bread pizza can be cooked only in an oven, you are probably wrong. As a matter of fact, this quick breakfast-cum-snack recipe for kids (for your husband, too) can also be cooked on a tawa in equal aplomb. Of course, you can always cook veg bread pizza; I mean bake the pizza in convection oven or microwave if you have such facilities at home.

Bread pizza or vegetable bread pizza is a very innovative form of traditional Pizza recipe. Whenever you are of short of time and you want to make something in hurry, then bread pizza is must go to recipe.

If you have pizza sauce then you can easily serve this pizza with this sauce. This bread pizza recipe is very simple and you can make this quite a less time. The most interesting part of this recipe is that you will be relieved from the hustle and bustle of working with pizza dough and other fermenting process. You can make this pizza recipe on the go on tawa or microwave oven as well. This bread pizza recipe always takes me out of trouble, every time my kids ask for something special of their taste. It’s a very easy and quick recipe and can be made very fast at home specially for kids lunch box and tiffin.

But let me tell you right away that each method has its pros and cons, as also features that spell difference in taste.  However, if you intend to follow the method generally adopted by famed food writer-cum-chef Reshu Drolia who also owns the well known culinary website MINTRECIPES, you would prefer the tawa and microwave option for the simple reason that these two not only make the job easier but are also less time consuming. However, here again, you need to apply caution, especially when you are using the tawa where the chances of the pizza getting burnt is rather more, as compared to using the microwave. Nevertheless, let us assume that you are using a tawa for cooking your bread pizza.

I have used mozzarella cheese and also some olive oil for this bread pizza. I have used normal bread slices and topped them with veggies. You can add veggies as per your taste. But adding mozzarella cheese adds to the pizza flavor. I have used capsicum, tomato, onions, corn and other ingredients in this bread pizza recipe. You can use mushroom, olives, paneer or any other vegetables as per you liking for topping the bread pizza.

Now, a word or two about the ingredients that you will need to prepare the vegetable bread pizza. As for the basic raw material, you may jolly well use the left over bread slices children just refused to eat before leaving for the school. Regarding the pizza sauce that forms the most integral part of the snack food, you may either go for over-the-counter sauce available in most shopping malls or make your own by mixing tomato ketchup and white pepper powder, taking care that over indulgence in the latter may cause the young ones to stay away from your pizza.

However, if you want it to be more appealing to your husband, you can sprinkle some garam masala powder, or better still, tandori masala on top of the pizza bread. You may also use marinated paneer cubes and copious quantity of Laughing Cow™ cheese, also called Mozzarella cheese, when intended for the children, but cutting out the cheese when catering for adults. However, you must remember that the taste of your Bread Pizza is mostly dependent on the sauce you have used; the cheese merely has been added to supplement the savor.

If you want to make it in oven then grill in a remember to preheat oven at 180 degree C until the cheese starts to melt.

Ingredients

  • 4 Slices white bread
  • capsicum Finely chopped
  • 1 small tomato finely chopped
  • 1 medium size onion finely chopped
  • ½ cup sweet corn kernels boiled
  • ¼ tsp black pepper or as required
  • Salt to taste
  • ½ tsp Red chilly flakes or as required
  • 1 tsp Oregano or as required for sprinkling
  • Pizza pasta sauce
  • Butter
  • 1 tsp Olive oil
  • Mozzarella cheese as required

Instructions

  • Heat non- stick pan on medium heat and grease the pan with butter.
  • Once the pan gets little hot place the bread slices on tawa and roast the bread from Both side.
  • Apply pizza pasta sauce over the roasted side of bread
  • Arrange the toppings- spread sauté vegetable mixture over the pizza sauce, black pepper, salt, grated mozzarella cheese, oregano or you can use italian seasoning also and lastly sprinkle some chilly flakes to make it spicy.
  • Repeat the same process for other bread slices.
  • Take a non- stick pan and slightly grease the pan with butter and put the bread pizza on tawa.
  • Cover with the lid and cook on medium low flame till the cheese melts and bread become crisp. It takes around 2-3 minutes to get roasted.
  • Uncovered the lid and take out the bread Pizza in a serving plate.
  • Cut into wedges and serve hot.

How to make bread pizza at home:

  • First step to make bread pizza recipe at home. Heat olive oil in a pan and sauté all the vegetables for few minutes on medium flame. Do not overcook the vegetables let it be crunchy. You can also use the vegetable fresh but for extra flavour sauté the vegetables.

  • Heat non- stick pan on medium heat and grease the pan with butter.

  • Once the pan gets little hot place the bread slices on tawa and roast the bread from one side.

  • When the bread gets roasted from downwards take out the bread from the pan.

  • Apply pizza pasta sauce over the roasted side of bread

  • Arrange the toppings- spread sauté vegetable mixture over the pizza sauce, black pepper, salt, grated mozzarella cheese, oregano or you can use italian seasoning also and lastly sprinkle some chilly flakes to make it spicy.

  • Repeat the same process for other bread slices.

  • i DO NOT HAVE PIZZA SAUCE. ALTERNATIVE?

    IF DONE IN MICROWAVE SHOULD BE IN MICROWAVE OR GRILLE OR CONVECTION MODE IF SO TIMINGS FOR EACH.
    i DID ONCE IN CONVECTION MODE FOR 5 MIN AFTER PRE HEATING IT GOT BURNT.
