Chocolate ice cream recipe with step by step photos – I scream, you scream, we all scream for ice cream! Do you remember this song by Howard Johnson? We have all heard of this phrase in our life and for ice cream lovers, this is just another of their favourite rhyming slogan. Since it is a much-loved frozen dessert among all, especially among kids, I have decided to jot down the recipe for homemade chocolate ice cream only for the die-hard chocolate lovers.

I have many more kulfi and ice cream recipes:

Do you know what the best thing about homemade chocolate ice cream is? It is the rich blend of cream without the slightest signs of nasties, typical in store-bought frozen desserts. Moreover, with this recipe, you get a control over the flavour combinations. Isn’t it great?

I feel nothing is better than a homemade chocolate ice cream that does not even require an ice cream maker to prepare. When I was a kid, we did not have an ice cream maker, but my mother knew how much I loved the frozen dessert, especially the chocolate flavour. It was then that she found out the recipe for it and perfected the skill by preparing it once in a while.

Chocolate Ice Cream

I prefer making everything at home, be it a meal or a sweet course. I believe the goodness of desserts is no match when compared to the local ice cream parlours selling the same old frozen food. Most of the demand comes from my son and daughter’s classmates, who really love the chocolate ice cream that I make.

The recipe that I have jotted down for chocolate ice cream here is a custard style ice cream without the slightest trace of raw eggs in it. Instead, it has the right balance of sweetness and bitterness in it. Do you know what makes my chocolate flavoured dessert the best? It is its resistance to freeze up, making it easy for you to pull out a scoop and put it in a cone for enjoying a frozen delight. I promise you a pure yet dense ice cream with the goodness of cocoa through this recipe.

When you are making it, you have to keep certain things in mind to achieve a smoother and softer chocolate rich ice cream. For instance, I usually increase the speed of the beater when using it for the whipping cream.  Again, at the time of spreading chocolate chips, I cover the entire dessert with a cling wrap to prevent ice crystals from forming.

So how about adding this frozen favourite to your dinner menu today? For all those having a sweet tooth, I am sure it will be joy in disguise.
