Dal Tadka Recipe – Easy Indian Recipe

  • Mix and wash all Dals in a bowl.
  • Soak dal in water for 3-4 hrs.

Dal tarka

  • Put soaked dal with water and salt in a pressure cooker on a medium heat.

  • Pressure cooks dal in 15 mins or in 5 whistles; make sure the whistle won’t release the steam out.

  • Open the pressure cooker,when dal gets tender.
  • Heat butter in a pan. Add Methi dana for flavour when it becomes golden brown add Onion and stir until it becomes light brown.

  • Add Tomato,ginger,garlic,green chili and cook till tomato becomes soft.

  • Add cooked dal in mixture.

  • Add Kasuri Methi, Red Chilli Powder, Garam masala and mix thoroughly.

  • Garnish with cream and butter.

Ingredients

  • 150 gm Black Gram Kali Urad
  • 50 gm Bengal gram Chana dal
  • 50 gm Arahar Dal
  • 2 Onions Chopped
  • 2 Tomatoes Chopped
  • Ginger chopped
  • 4-5 piece Garlic chopped
  • 2-3 Piece Green Chilly
  • 1 tsp Kasuri Methi
  • ½ tsp Red chili powder
  • ¼ tsp Garam masala
  • ½ tsp Methi Dana
  • Salt to taste
  • Butter
