Spring Roll Sheets

Spring Roll Sheets Recipe with step-by-step guide and instructions- Spring Rolls are something that we all like, but how many of us even know about its history? It was a seasonal cuisine, which marked the beginning of a new season- Spring, hence the name ‘Spring Roll’. The long winter months in those times meant people depending totally on preserved food and so the onset of Spring was a relief for them. With the availability of fresh vegetables, Spring Rolls were the first thing that came to their mind.

As this Asian cuisine started coming to focus, so did Spring Roll Sheets. The latter is the key ingredient to this world famous Dim Sum. If you are still confused about how these wrappers look like, let me introduce it to you all. These edible sheets are thin food wraps made of flour, best for presenting fried Spring Rolls. Speaking about its fineness, it is delicate than an Egg Roll Wrapper but thicker than a Rice Paper Sheet.

Spring Roll Sheets on a white plate

You can easily purchase it from supermarkets, in either dried or frozen form. However, my question is why spend on them, when you can actually make it at home? I will show two ways to a perfect wrapper, one with flour dough and the other with flour paste.

Do you realize how essential an ingredient it is? Almost every snack that you relish, be it a quintessential Spring Roll or a crisp Samosa or rather a Roll with veggie fillings, requires these delicate sheets to wrap up the stuffing. With so many options before you, do you still feel that being a vegan is an unfortunate thing? Of course not!

Getting the perfect shaped sheets with the right thickness is not much difficult. Just stick to the steps that I have penned down here, and make the crepes from your home. These not only have an awesome taste as the store-bought ones but are hygienic too! J For making quick snacks or for serving it in mini birthday parties, these Spring Roll Wrappers are perfect. You might also shred them and bake it for your salad topping.

Spring Roll Sheets

Have you ever thought how versatile it is? From making edible bowls to filling them up with Nutella for a dessert, these wrappers or sheets are much more than just a Spring Roll cover.

If you were considering plain maida flour for this recipe then I would say, it is a strict NO! I tried it myself once but was highly disappointed with the taste. So the best replacement would be all-purpose flour paired up with corn flour to derive the preferred taste. Enough talking let us try them out now!
