- Boil milk in a deep heavy Pan and leave to simmer over a low heat.
- Wash and Soak rice in water and leave for half an hour.
- Drain water from rice and mix few drops of ghee (homemade ghee) into it.
- Put the rice in milk on low flames stirring it ocassional so that it doesn't get burnt.
- Bring it to boil until the rice is soft and starting to break up.
- When the milk becomes slightly thick and rice becomes soft add sugar and stir till the sugar gets dissolved.
- Chop Almond to slivers.
- Add pinch of Kesar, cardamom powder and almond and stir for a minute.
- Remove rice kheer from heat and serve warm or chilled.
- Garnish with kesar and Almond before serving.

You can add dry fruits according to your taste.
