Paneer bhurji swiss roll recipe with step by step photos – When it comes to food, I just love to flaunt my creations, most of which are experiments turned success. Naming them after preparing it is another of my liking. Paneer Bhurji Swiss Roll is one such dish that had just popped into my mind one fine evening. I was awaiting my friend’s arrival when the thought of infusing the idea of Swiss Roll with Paneer Bhurji hit me. I had already prepared the latter but was somewhat dissatisfied with the menu.

I have many paneer recipes like Kadai Paneer, Paneer Capsicum Masala, Palak Paneer, Paneer Butter Masala, Veg Palak Paneer, etc

I knew how much she loved eating, that too Indian homemade food. I had exactly 2 hours before she arrived and this was when I started making something extraordinary that she had never tasted. To tell you the truth, it turned out to be a fabulous dish and I still recall how much she enjoyed the meal, especially the spicy Swiss rolls.

The very shape of these Paneer Bhurji Swiss Rolls is amazing, let alone the aroma. These tiny bits of delight, 1 to 1 ½ inches thick, are finger licking good. It sure does take a lot of time to prepare, I agree, but it is worth the effort. Moreover, such good taste and that too cooked in olive oil, who would not want a bite of it!

Having made this snack, you must be thinking when to serve it. Since it is in the shape of Swiss Rolls, I would suggest it to be a quick party entrée. Imagine it on a platter with all those tangy dips or zesty green chutney. Isn’t it tempting? Having discovered this dish on my own, I prefer serving it in parties and avoid ordering the oily, unhygienic fries from fast food centres.

Homemade Paneer Bhurji Swiss Rolls can also be your children’s favorite. Ever thought how to finish off the leftover Paneer Bhurji from last night? Turning them into palatable Swiss Rolls for your kid’s lunchbox might just be a hit.

Regarding the preparation of Paneer Bhurji, you might refer to the recipe given on my blog page. I have penned down the steps in details for your convenience.

You can serve this along with tomato chutney, imli ki chutney, dhaniya chutney or lehsun ki chutney

Ingredients

  • 1 ½ all purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 5 grams active yeast dry yeast
  • 1/2 tsp powdered sugar normal sugar
  • 100 ml water
  • 1 ½ tbsp. olive oil
  • 1/4 cup parsley freshly chopped
  • Butter

For stuffing:

  • Paneer Bhurji

Instructions

  • In a mixing bowl add flour, salt and mix until well combined. Keep aside
  • Take another small bowl and put water in it. Now add sugar and mix it well till sugar gets dissolve.
  • Add active yeast and mix it well. I have taken normal water but you can take lukewarm water also to mix active yeast. As I am using active yeast so need to give rest for 15 to 20 minutes, use it instant.
  • Mix the mixture of active yeast into the bowl of flour and knead soft dough. Add water as required.
  • Add 1 tbsp of oil and knead the dough again to make it smooth and soft dough.
  • Lastly add chopped parsley and knead it again. This time mixture becomes sticky so add rest of the ½ tbsp. of oil and knead the dough very well.
  • Cover the dough with cling wrap and leave the dough for 30 to 45 minutes till it rises or gets double in volume.
  • After 45 minutes uncovered the dough and divide the dough into 3 equal big size balls.
  • Dust the rolling surface with some dry flour, coat the ball with some dry flour and roll it thinly into big round disc just like we roll chapatti.
  • Now spread the paneer bhurji mixture onto rolled disc and spread it evenly and slightly press it with your hands so that it gets set properly.
  • Now carefully roll it to form a cylinder. Cut the roll into 1 to 1 ½ inch thickness
  • Repeat the same process for rest of the dough.
  • Put butter in a pan and wait till it gets melt. Now place 7-8 paneer bhurji swiss roll one by one into the non-stick pan, do not overcrowd the pan.
  • Cook swiss roll on medium low flame so that it will get fully cooked from inside too. Cook it evenly from all around till it becomes golden brown.
  • Once cooked take out from the pan and repeat the same process for rest of the dough.
  • Paneer bhurji swiss rolls are ready to serve
  • Serve hot with any green chutney, tomato ketchup or any dip of your choice.
  • You can also bake swiss roll in a pre-heated oven on 180 degree Celsius 20-25 minutes until the crust turns golden brown.
