In India, we can get many varieties of dosa recipe. You have the option to choose from so many types of dosa. Whenever, we go to any restaurant, we generally find dosa as Plain, onion, masala, paper etc. But to be exactly true, you can find more ways in which you can make South Indian Dosa.
I am amazed to see so many varieties of dosa. From crispy dosa to soft dosa, different types of masala stuffed in dosa, different types of batter used in dosa etc. There is endless list of types of dosa recipe which you can also make at home easily. Right from healthy dosa recipe to full masala vegetable dosa, dosa for kids to simple plain dosa.
Different types of fillings are used in dosa. Some use potato as filling, then some use onions. There are endless possibilities. There are plenty of dosa batter recipes available online. You can make any masala dosa recipe you want, by stuffing your masala mixture.
I am now excited to list, different types of dosa available in India.
1. Ragi Dosa
Ragi is also known as finger millet or red millet. Ragi is a very nutritiious and digestive. It’s very healthy food for lactating mother or people suffering from illness. Ragi is rich in calcium.
2. Oats Dosa
This recipe has been made using Oats. In this dosa no fermentation is required. You can make it instantly. It’s highly nutritios and healthy.
3. Cabbage Dosa
This is a combination of dosa batter and grinded and chopped cabbage to make it extremely delicious. This is a perfect choice for healthy dosa recipe.
4. Neer Dosa
Neer dosa is made totally from rice batter. This dosa is very soft and fluffy. This recipe is originated fro Tulu Nadu region of Karnataka.
‘Neer’ means water. This recipe derived this name because of it’s watery batter. The batter is usually not that thick as usual dosa batter.
5. Chinese Dosa

6. Soybean Dosa
This dosa has been made using soybeans and flaxseed. Flaxseed is very rich in Omega 3 fatty acids and lignans.
7. Sabudana Dosa
This recipe is very healthy dosa recipe. It uses sabudana grains which is a great source of pure carbohydrate with very little protein, Vitamin C, calcium and minerals. It’s very crispy.
8. Besan Dosa
Typically, besan dosa is made from besan batter. It’s normally known as besan ka cheela in India.

Yes, this is the yummiest and most spicy dosa recipe. You will not need any chutney or sambhar with this dosa recipe. Just spread your pav bhaji masala over this.
