Kadai paneer is a delicious, simple, spicy and popular Indian recipe. Learn how to make kadai paneer recipe. This restaurant style recipe is being served in so many versions like dry, semi dry or with gravy.

Make sure the tomatoes should be red, because we use lots of chopped red tomatoes which give nice bright red colour to the gravy. Capsicum gives the nice texture to kadai paneer recipe; do not make it soft while cooking let it be crunchy which gives nice taste while eating.

Ingredients

  • 250 gm cottage cheese paneer cut into cubes (Watch Homemede Paneer)
  • 2 medium onion finely chopped or sliced
  • 3 medium size tomatoes chopped
  • 2 medium size capsicum julienned or cubed chopped
  • 2 Bay leaf
  • 3 Cloves
  • 2 inch pie Cinnamon
  • 2 red chillies Dried
  • 1 tablespoon Coriander seeds crushed
  • 1 piece Ginger crushed
  • 1 clove Garlic crushed
  • Salt to taste
  • 2 tbsp oil
  • 1 tsp Coriander powder
  • 1 tsp Red chilly powder
  • ½ tsp Garam masala Recipe here
  • 1 tsp Kasturi methi
  • 1 Fresh cream tablespoon
  • coriander leaves Chopped

Instructions

  • Heat oil in a pan on medium heat. Once it becomes hot add bay leaf, cinnamon, Dry red chilly, broken into two, and crushed coriander seeds and sauté for a min.
  • Add onion and sauté for a while; add ginger, garlic and sauté till the onion becomes translucent.
  • Mix chopped tomatoes and sprinkle little salt and cook over high heat till the water gets evaporated.
  • Add coriander powder, red chilly powder and sauté till the oil seperates. Keep stirring and mashing the tomatoes in between.
  • Add capsicum and sauté for a while.
  • Add water and cook till the capsicum becomes soft and get the proper consistency of gravy.
  • Add kasturi methi , garam masala and mix it well.
  • Then add paneer, stir gently.
  • Add enough salt, water if require and bring it to boil.
  • Lastly add cream and let the gravy come to a boil.
  • Garnish with chopped cilantro and serve with Roti, Nan, Parantha.

How to make kadai paneer:
