Yes; you are right; my doctor has advised me to have oil free snacks whenever available. Or at least snack foods that have only traces of oil in them. But why this jihad against oil, I ask. The answer is quite simple. Oil, I assert is itself a highly processed food (alike all other processed foods we rail against), while it is not a very good bang for the calorie buck and seldom offers anything but lots of fat for the consumer.

Let’s be quite honest about it – no oil is good for us. Olive oil has been fortunate enough to have excellent promotional base around it to convince people that it is healthy for all, when in actual realty it is not, while the olive of course, is.

Also, look at it this way; there is no oil occurring in nature. It has to be pressed and extracted out of something else. Why, our ancestors did not consume olive oil but they ate olives whenever they wanted. And so do I.

However, since we are not living in Stone Age, nor are we cavemen in the true sense of it, from where do we or can we obtain oil free snacks for our day to day consumption?  Well, where there is a will, there is a way. Look for Reshu’s (Reshu Drolia, well known food writer-cum-chef who owns popular recipe website MINTRECIPES) Oil free Paneer Bread Pakora or Paneer Pakoda Sandwich to get it.

Why; I am not the only one that craves for it, as Riva and Ashvat, Reshu’s darling children also fall for this oil-free snack food. However, you can hear from her own lips about how to prepare this special snack item.
