Choco Chips used as an ingredient in a number of desserts, in trail mix and less commonly in some breakfast foods such as pancakes.

It is a highly desired dessert ingredient that is loved by all and on all occasions. It is made by chopping chocolate into small pieces with a knife so that they easily melt in a very less time. It is less time taking and will also be cost effective.

This recipe is not only about the taste, but also about giving a completion to the dessert. It makes delectable desserts that not only taste yummy but also look appealing. These baking chips are worth drooling for when topped over smoothies, chocolate ice-creams, and cakes! These have been originated in the United States of America and can be used in cookies, pancakes, waffles, cakes, pudding, muffins, crêpes, pies, hot chocolate, and various pastries. They are also found in many other retail food products such as granola bars, ice cream, and trail mix. You can use 200 grams Dark chocolate compound/unsweetened chocolate to make this recipe.

Choco Chips

Choco Chips used as an ingredient in a number of desserts, Ice creams, chocolates etc.

Ingredients

  • 200 grams Dark chocolate compound unsweetened chocolate
  • Piping bag
  • Butter paper
  • Toothpick

Instructions

  • Chopped chocolate into small pieces with a knife so that they will get easily melt in a very less time.
  • Put chopped chocolates in a microproof/heatproof bowl and melt by using a double boiler or in the microwave.
  • Melt chocolate in a double boiler:
  • Take 11/2 cup of water in a pan and bring it to boil.
  • Once water starts boiling switch off the flame and put the container of chopped chocolates onto the pan. Make sure the bottom of the bowl is not touching the water.
  • Now let the chocolate melt by the steam of water, stirring occasionally with a spatula till it gets completely melted and smooth, don’t melt chocolate directly on the flame as it will get burn and will not melt.
  • By using double boiler chocolate will melt easily and stay smooth.
  • Melted chocolate is ready by using a double boiler.

Melt chocolate using the microwave:

  • Put chopped chocolate in microproof bowl and microwave on high for 15-20 seconds.
  • Take out the bowl after 20 seconds and give a mix for a minute.
  • If you found chocolate is not completely melted still there are some pieces of chocolate then again microwave on high for 10-15 seconds. Take out and stir for a minute. At this point chocolate gets melted completely but if in case it’s not melted then continue this process till it’s completely melted.
  • You can melt chocolate in both the ways by using a double boiler or in the microwave.
  • To make choco chips pour melted chocolate into a small piping bag or you can make cones by using butter paper or you can use ziplock bags also.
  • Cut the tip very finely and pipe dots onto the parchment paper or butter paper. After piping out some of the chocolate mixtures, wait for few seconds till the chocolate gets semi set, Pipe out chocolate in batches if you pipe out all the melted chocolate at once then you won’t be able to create iconic point as chocolate gets hard or set in very less time.
  • Once the semi-set takes a toothpick and gently touch into the center of the dots and lift it up to make an ironic point.
  • Work quickly at this point otherwise chocolate will get har.
  • Now start making dots by remaining melted chocolate.
  • Once done, keep the choco chips in the fridge for 3-4 minutes to get hard completely.
  • Once set, take out from the butter paper and transfer them to an airtight container.
