Daliya is a very popular Indian recipe. Sweet daliya is very simple and easy to cook Indian recipe for Breakfast. Learn here how to make sweet dalia at home without milk.

I have also made some delicious Indian desserts like bread rasmalai,  Sevai Shrikhand, bread gulab jamun, mishti doi, Instant Crispy Jalebi,  Mixed Fruit Cream, Homemade Kaju Katli Recipe etc.

Daliya (cracked wheat) is also known as Daliya Khichdi. Its hardly take 15 to 20 minutes to cook sweet daliya. Its a very easy recipe to cook.Dalia is very low in calories, provided, you add salt instead of sugar. It recipe takes very little time to cook. You can also make milk dalia or daliya kheer by adding milk in it. It’s very much similar to meetha daliya.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup daliya cracked wheat
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 4 pieces almonds
  • 4 pieces cashew
  • Ghee clarified butter

Instructions

  • Heat ghee (homemade ghee) in a pan on medium heat.
  • Roast Daliya (cracked wheat)on a medium heat till it becomes golden red.
  • After roasting soak daliya in water for an hour. You can also make it without soaking.
  • Put soaked daliya with water in a pressure cooker on a medium heat.
  • Pressure cooks the daliya in 10 mins or in 2 whistles, make sure the whistle won’t release the steam out.
  • Open the pressure cooker,when daliya gets tender add sugar in it on a medium heat.
  • Stir daliya till the sugar gets dissolve.
  • Garnish with almonds,cashew or any dry fruits of your taste.
  • Topped with homemade ghee and serve hot
  • Some people likes to eat daliya with milk which you can also make it easily.
  • My other Indian Dessert Recpes like Rajasthani sweet rice, Makhana kheer, sevai kheer, Rice kheer which you can make it easily.

 How to make meetha dalia (Sweet Dalia):
